Job Overview

TANROADS Njombe Hiring Environmental Officer (1 Post), Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is an agency under the Ministry of Works, responsible for developing and maintaining the trunk and regional roads network in Tanzania Mainland. Additionally, TANROADS is responsible for conducting axle load control operations and airport construction.

Entry Qualifications:

  • Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science and Management, Environmental Planning and Management, Geography and Environmental Studies, or an equivalent qualification from any recognized institution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct environmental research on road maintenance and development.
  • Update the environmental management procedures for the roads sector.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments for road projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Competence:

  • Must be computer literate.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision.

Terms of Service: Specified contract for one year or more.

Salary:  TANROADS salary scale with site allowances as per the TANROADS incentive policy.
