Position Details:

• Position: Pump Attendant
• Reporting to: Shaft Supervisor
• Duration: Permanent

Responsibilities:

• Monitor equipment in line with documented Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Attend compulsory safety courses and meetings to uphold safe work practices.
• Report the status of all pumps and assist fitters during pump breakdowns.
• Control dust in the working area and assist in shaft repairs.
• Write detailed reports and support during shaft examinations.
• Maintain and control underground water cascade systems and dam housekeeping.
• Load and offload materials from the cage.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and perform tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification Requirements:

• Ordinary Secondary Education (Form IV Certificate).
• A forklift operation certificate will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in underground mining.
• Experience in shaft operations is an added advantage.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

• Knowledge of shaft operations.
• Awareness of mine health and safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Proficiency in hazard identification and risk assessment.
