Job Overview
PIER Advocates is seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will manage financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide critical insights to support strategic decisions.
This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills, a commitment to ethical accounting practices, and a proven ability to handle complex financial tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: I assist in creating budgets and financial forecasts, offering data-driven insights to support decision-making.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure adherence to tax regulations by preparing and filing returns and managing tax audits.
- Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and addressing queries.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial trends, variances, and risks, presenting recommendations for improvement.
- Payroll Management: Supervise payroll processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on financial regulations to maintain compliance and best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification.
- At least 5 years of experience with a reputable organization or firm.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in Tally software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- High integrity and commitment to ethical accounting practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
