Job Overview

NMB Bank Plc is seeking a skilled and motivated Zone Systems Administrator to join our team at the Head Office in Dar es Salaam. This role focuses on maintaining, monitoring, and supporting NMB’s working tools across branches and the Head Office.

The ideal candidate will ensure the quality of supplier-provided services, uphold high standards of service delivery, and contribute to the availability, security, and continuous improvement of banking IT systems to meet and exceed business and customer expectations.

Position: Zone Systems Administrator
Location: Head Office, Dar es Salaam
Job Purpose:
To perform daily maintenance, monitoring, and support of working tools at the Head Office and branches while ensuring quality assurance, compliance, and superior service delivery.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform daily and scheduled maintenance of branch working tools, including:
    • Desktops, laptops, teller printers, scanners, ATMs, forex boards, note machines, power systems (e.g., UPS, generators, inverters), and self-service terminals.
  • Conduct daily morning checks for branches and resolve or escalate any identified issues.
  • Maintain and update the Asset Management database, inventory, and lifecycle processes every six months.
  • Ensure timely resolution and closure of incidents and problems logged via the Service Manager system while adhering to SLA and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Supervise vendors during maintenance activities to ensure high-quality workmanship with minimal disruption to services.
  • Compile and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly reports with statistical and graphical insights.
  • Train branch IT Champions on basic troubleshooting to act as the first point of contact for branch ICT systems issues.
  • Escalate complex IT issues to second-level support or vendors and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Ensure all computers and devices are protected with the latest security controls.
  • Plan duties efficiently, ensuring cost-effectiveness and prioritization of branch visits.
  • Prepare and manage the process for obsolete equipment disposal, ensuring compliance and transparency.
  • Monitor the performance and uptime of ATMs and other systems within the zone.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of banking IT systems and tools.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced banking environment.
  • Proficiency in providing user training and technical guidance.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting IT systems and peripherals.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong commitment to integrity, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Knowledge of ICT Service Management (ITIL) and networking (CCNA) is advantageous.
  • Organizational, time management, and logistical planning skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in ICT engineering or a related discipline.
  • Certifications in IT systems (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft) are an advantage.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in banking IT systems support.
