We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Finance Analysts to join our dynamic team at NMB Bank Plc. This role involves managing the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate transaction recording, budget control, and efficient payment processing.

The successful candidates will play a crucial role in financial analysis, reporting, and advising management on financial strategies and compliance with regulations.

Job Description
Position: Finance Analyst – 2 Posts
Location: Head Office

Job Purpose

To oversee the financial activities of the organization, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of transactions, proper budget control and monitoring, and effective and timely processing of payments.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage financial resources to ensure compliance with regulations, accounting principles, and standards.
• Conduct financial analysis and reporting, manage taxation, insurance, credit control, accounts payable and receivable, inventory, cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Provide financial advice to management, including the impact of laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with Senior Finance Analysts to develop budgets, analyze financial reports, and manage general ledger reviews.
• Monitor and review cost center budgets, share monthly reports with cost center owners, and facilitate variance discussions to foster a cost-conscious culture.
• Ensure timely payment of invoices and staff claims within agreed timelines, maintaining proper records for audit trails.
• Resolve queries and complaints within agreed timelines, including GL access and requests for refunds/reversals.
• Follow up with cost centers to clear outstanding entries in Back-office suspense accounts as per the agreed turnaround time.
• Perform additional finance-related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Knowledge and Skills

• Proficiency in financial control and management, including bank products, policies, and procedures.
• Expertise in accounting management, financial systems (e.g., ERP), and best practices in internal controls.
• Strong analytical skills, decision-making, communication, customer focus, and ability to facilitate change.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, preferably in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Financial Accounting.
