Job Overview
The Assistant Relationship Manager – Agri Retail will support Relationship Managers in fostering and maintaining strong client relationships. This role entails facilitating pre-and post-approval credit processes, preparing essential reports, conducting analyses, and recommending solutions to improve processes and portfolio quality.
The incumbent will also act as a liaison between clients and the bank, ensuring smooth communication and adherence to banking standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare offer letters and mortgage documents, ensuring compliance with approval conditions in collaboration with the Credit and Legal departments.
- Provide daily assistance to clients by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Perform secretarial duties during departmental meetings and ensure timely execution of action items.
- Generate reports for internal and external stakeholders, including Bancassurance, Credit, Quality Assurance, Auditors, and BOT examiners.
- Monitor client accounts, including loan, overdraft, and off-balance accounts, and ensure corrective actions for non-performing or expiring facilities.
- Coordinate credit documentation updates, including insurance policies, valuation reports, and annual reviews.
- Support Relationship Managers in onboarding new clients and ensuring seamless data collection and processing.
- Monitor arrears and liaise with Relationship Managers to implement action plans, including reminders, rescheduling, or restructuring as required.
- Prepare periodic reports on portfolio quality, compliance, and post-approval credit conditions for management and committees.
- Conduct market research to provide insights and support strategic client solutions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in English and Swahili (written and spoken).
- Strong understanding of Business Banking products and services.
- Knowledge of Core Banking Operating System (Flexcube) and Business Intelligence (BI) systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and legal document drafting skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, LLB, or related fields.
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience in Retail Banking, Credit, or Legal departments.
