The Commissioner General of Immigration has announced new job opportunities for Immigration Officers, targeting eligible Tanzanian youth.
These positions are open to individuals who meet specific qualifications and are ready to serve in the Immigration Department across Tanzania. Applications will be submitted online from November 29, 2024, to December 13, 2024.
Applicant Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
i. Be a Tanzanian citizen.
ii. Be unemployed and have no prior employment in any government institution.
iii. Possess a Birth Certificate.
iv. Hold a National ID or NIDA number issued by the National Identification Authority.
v. Be physically and mentally fit.
vi. Have no history of drug use.
vii. Have no criminal record or involvement in any unlawful activities.
viii. Have no tattoos or body marks.
ix. Be unmarried and without children.
x. Age requirements:
- Form Four education: 18–22 years.
- Form Six/Diploma education: 18–25 years.
- Degree/Advanced Diploma education: 18–30 years.
xi. Be willing to work in any part of Tanzania as required by the Immigration Department.
xii. Be ready to cover all costs of the recruitment and application process.
Prioritized Applications
Priority will be given to applicants with the following qualifications at Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma, or Certificate levels from recognized institutions:
- International Languages,
- Administration,
- Law,
- Public Relations,
- ICT,
- Registry,
- Secretarial Services,
- Accounting,
- Procurement and Supply (with Board registration),
- Statistics,
- Economics,
- Electrical Engineering,
- Automotive Mechanics,
- Air Conditioning,
- Cyber Security,
- Brass Band,
- Printing.
Application Procedure
Applications must be submitted via the Immigration Department’s website (https://www.immigration.go.tz) and include the following PDF documents (each under 300KB):
i. Recent passport-sized photo in jpg/png format (under 300KB).
ii. Handwritten application letter.
iii. Introduction letter from the local government or JKT/JKU camp (for camp residents).
iv. Birth Certificate.
v. National ID or NIDA number.
vi. Form Four and Form Six academic index numbers for system input.
vii. Certificates of relevant qualifications (Certificate, Diploma, Degree/Advanced Diploma).
viii. Professional registration certificates (where applicable).
ix. Applicant’s CV.
