Standard Bank Group Limited | Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to lead our procurement function in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This pivotal role involves strategic oversight of procurement operations to ensure cost-efficiency, compliance, and excellence in supplier relationships.

You will drive the implementation of best practices, mentor a high-performing team, and collaborate across departments to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with organizational objectives.
• Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, securing favorable terms and conditions.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet organizational procurement needs.
• Establish and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Oversee procurement software and systems for streamlined processes.
• Manage supplier relationships and address any issues that arise effectively.
• Ensure compliance with local and international procurement regulations.
• Prepare and present procurement performance reports to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
• Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle Procurement) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPSP, CIPS) preferred.
• Membership in the Procurement & Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB) is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, local regulations, and international trade.
• Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
