Position Details

Reporting to: Process Plant Engineer
Duration: Permanent
Job Schedule: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  1. Equipment Monitoring:
    • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies.
    • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
    • Promote safe work practices among the team.
  2. Maintenance Oversight:
    • Plan and execute maintenance schedules for process plant equipment.
    • Monitor and control downtime, addressing critical stoppages and incidents.
    • Manage inventory to ensure availability of critical spare parts.
  3. Project Management:
    • Oversee equipment upgrades, replacements, and new installations.
    • Implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
    • Plan and manage service and shutdown activities per annual outage plans.
  4. Team Development:
    • Identify training needs and implement training plans in collaboration with Supervisors.
    • Create an environment for skill development through mentoring and coaching programs.
    • Communicate key initiatives and relevant updates effectively to the team.
  5. Reporting & Budgeting:
    • Ensure timely completion of daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
    • Prepare and manage the annual budget, focusing on continuous improvement and cost control.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in mining-related electrical and instrumentation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, DCS, VFDs, and motor controls.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong technical expertise in electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in mining.
