The President’s Office—Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, is implementing the Tanzania Maternal and Child Health Investment Program (TMCHIP), funded by the World Bank.

As part of this program, PO-RALG invites applications from qualified Tanzanian citizens to fill 400 contractual positions in various health cadres to work in local government authorities across the country.

Qualified graduates from recognized higher learning institutions and health training colleges are encouraged to apply from 6th to 20th December 2024. The available positions are open to holders of Certificate (Astashahada), Diploma (Stashahada), and Degree (Shahada) qualifications.

Application Guidelines for Health Cadre Contractual Positions

Applicants meeting the specified qualifications should submit their applications online through the TAMISEMI job portal at ajira.tamisemi.go.tz. Candidates who have previously submitted applications using the system must update their details and application letters.

Available Positions and Qualifications

Medical Doctor (Grade II – TGHS E)

• • A bachelor’s degree in medicine from a government-recognized institution.
  • Completion of a minimum one-year internship.
  • Registration and valid practicing license from the Medical Council of Tanganyika.

Dental Officer (Grade II – TGHS B)

• • Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (NTA Level 6) from a government-recognized institution.
  • Registration and valid practicing license from the Medical Council of Tanganyika.

Clinical Officer (Grade II – TGHS B)

• • Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution.
  • Valid practicing license from the Medical Council of Tanganyika.

Pharmaceutical Technician (Grade II – TGHS B)

• • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology (3 years) from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with the Pharmacy Council.

Assistant Nurse Officer (Grade II – TGHS B)

• • Diploma in Nursing from a government-recognized institution.
  • Registration and valid practicing license from the Tanzania Nurse and Midwifery Council.

Assistant Laboratory Technician (Grade II – TGHS A)

• • Certificate in Health Laboratory Sciences (2 years) from a recognized institution.
  • Registration and valid practicing license from the Health Laboratory Practitioners’ Council.

Radiology Technician (Grade II – TGHS B)

• • Diploma in Radiology/Radiography (NTA Level 6) from a recognized institution.
  • Registration and valid practicing license from the Medical Radiology and Imaging Professionals Council.

Laboratory Technician (Grade II – TGHS B)

• • Diploma in Health Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
  • Registration and valid practicing license from the Health Laboratory Practitioners’ Council.

Enrolled Nurse (Grade II)

• • Certificate in Nursing (2 years) from a recognized institution.
  • Registration and valid practicing license from the Tanzania Nurse and Midwifery Council.

Assistant Pharmaceutical Technician

• • Certificate in Pharmaceutical Technology (2 years) from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with the relevant professional council.

General Requirements for All Applicants

• Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
• Maximum age: 45 years.
• Possession of all relevant certificates, including Form Four/Six results, professional training certificates, and a valid practicing license.
• Not currently employed by the government or a government-salaried religious hospital.
• Must possess a valid National Identification Card (NIDA).
• No record of dismissal, resignation, or retirement from public service.

Important Notes for Applicants

• Be ready to work in any local government authority assigned.
• Ensure all personal information and documents are correctly filled out and uploaded to the system.
• Applications from candidates with disabilities should include a description of their disability, supported by a certified medical report from a government hospital.
• Applications sent via postal mail or delivered directly to PO-RALG offices will not be considered.
