Corporate Communications & PR Manager
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Company: Yas Tanzania (formerly Tigo Tanzania)
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of senior-level experience in Press and Media for a major media outlet or international organization.
Core Responsibilities:
- Media Strategy & Relations:
- Create, develop, and sustain a positive news narrative about Yas Tanzania, aligning with the company’s vision of transforming lives through innovation, employment, training, corporate responsibility, and healthy competition.
- Manage effective delivery of key messages through appropriate communication channels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with political leaders, advisors, journalists, editors, and major media outlets.
- Develop and oversee a media relations calendar, including planned news stories and events.
- Executive Support & Training:
- Advise senior executives on media and political engagement strategies.
- Facilitate media and presentation training for senior executives.
- Crisis Management & PR Oversight:
- Support crisis communication planning and manage external PR agencies to ensure timely, effective responses to issues.
Key Competencies:
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail management software.
