Job Opportunity at Ikungi; Child Care Assistant

Halmashauri ya Wilaya ya Ikungi is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Care Assistant (Mlezi wa Watoto Msaidizi) to support the Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs. The role involves implementing daily activities, fostering a safe learning environment, and providing appropriate care for children, including those with special needs.

The ideal candidate will actively engage in community outreach and support parents and guardians in promoting children’s growth and development.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Participate in implementing the integrated Early Childhood Development (ECD) plan.
2. Prepare and execute daily activity schedules at the assigned center.
3. Identify and utilize safe learning environments for children.
4. Provide referrals for child-related issues beyond personal capacity.
5. Identify children with special needs and deliver appropriate services.
6. Participate in community mobilization to promote ECD services.
7. Advise parents/guardians on child care, growth, and development in their area.
8. Prepare and submit reports on daily activities in the designated area.
9. Engage in child case management processes at the relevant level.
10. Prepare reports on establishing ECD centers in designated areas.
11. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor based on education and skills.

Qualification and Experience

• Form Four or Form Six graduates who have completed a certificate program (Astashahada) in one of the following fields: Early Childhood Care, Development, and Education, Social Welfare, or Psychology from a government-recognized institution.

Remuneration

• Salary Scale: TGS B
