Job Overview

Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA) is seeking dedicated and qualified individuals to join its team as Aircraft Marshaller II. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of aircraft movements within the airport.

The successful candidates will be responsible for marshaling aircraft, overseeing apron operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and coordinating with various stakeholders to maintain seamless operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Marshal aircraft and provide start-up signals to the cockpit, ensuring safety around the engines.
  2. Allocate aircraft parking bays based on type, size, and VIP flight requirements.
  3. Oversee and control apron operations, including towing and push-back activities.
  4. Direct wing walkers to remove chocks following cockpit confirmation of set brakes.
  5. Ensure the safe operation of equipment around aircraft in compliance with ICAO, IATA, and TCAA standards.
  6. Receive and disseminate flight information from air traffic controllers for announcements and mayfly development.
  7. Share technical details on aircraft parking with airlines, ground handlers, and controllers.
  8. Monitor compliance with apron safety procedures, such as wearing reflectors and proper equipment parking.
  9. Report accidents or incidents on the airside using the appropriate forms.
  10. Inspect AVOP licenses of drivers operating on the airside.
  11. Track flight movements, record data, and maintain logbooks.
  12. Prepare and submit daily reports before shift handover.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Requirement: Diploma in Statistics, Business Administration/Commerce (Finance or Accounting), Banking, or an equivalent field from a recognized institution.
  • Other Requirements: Proficiency in computer operations and completion of an Apron Management course.

Remuneration

  • Grade: TAAS 3.1
