Taifa Gas Tanzania Limited (TAIFA GAS) started as Mihan Gas Company Limited (MIHAN GAS). The company was incorporated in the United Republic of Tanzania in 2005 with certificate of incorporation number 52508, as a limited company under the Companies Ordinance (Cap 212), The Company spent two years in its initial business startup investment in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and eventually commenced business in 2008.
In 2017, new shareholders acquired the company. In 2019, the name was changed from Mihan Gas Company Limited to Taifa Gas Company Limited to better reflect the company’s new vision and mission. Taifa Gas Tanzania Limited operates under both the Taifa Gas and Mihan Gas brands, which can be seen in its LPG cylinders and other related equipment.
Taifa Gas operates 20 depots across various locations, including Mwanza, Mbeya, Moshi, Dodoma, Singida, Morogoro, Iringa, Kahama, Kigoma, Songea, Njombe, Manyara, Bukoba, Geita, Tabora, Musoma, Arusha, Sumbawanga, Tanga, and Shinyanga. Additionally, two depots in Mwanga and Lindi are currently in the final stages of construction.
