The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is committed to maintaining and developing the trunk and regional road network in Tanzania Mainland. As part of its mandate, TANROADS conducts axle load control operations using weighbridge scales.
To enhance its operational capacity, TANROADS invites qualified and competent Tanzanians to join its team for the Upgrading of Matai–Kasesya (50 Km) Road to Bitumen Standard; Lot 2: Tatanda-Kasesya Section (25 km) project in Rukwa Region.
Position Title: Materials Technician (1 Post)
Entry Qualifications:
- Tanzanian citizen with a Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- At least three (3) years of cumulative experience in materials-related roles.
- Proven track record of serving as a Pavement/Material Technician or equivalent in road construction projects of similar magnitude and complexity.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in spoken and written English are mandatory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor laboratory activities to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Implement Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures effectively.
- Inspect and test all materials and completed works to meet technical requirements.
- Ensure sample test results conform to project specifications.
- Organize, label, and properly store approved material samples on-site.
- Verify that all materials supplied or procured meet approved sample standards.
- Prepare daily reports on material testing, approved samples, and supplied materials while maintaining proper records.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Terms of Service:
- Contract: Specified contract for one year or more, based on project completion.
- Location: The successful candidate must be willing to work in Rukwa Region.
